The Oracle is a man-made intelligent supercomputer with arguably the most knowledge in the history of mankind up until it's creation. Programmed with a database with millions of servers, it was a revolutionary creation made by a group of scientist, being the brain-child of a former member of the group who has passed away before being able to see The Oracle in it's full glory. The Oracle is right. The Oracle is always right.
It was directly programmed to have a friendly approach in mind, trying to appeal to the human gaze with it's friendly look. After it's breakout, it seems to have grown a temper and a need for perfection within the facility, as well as a sense of god-like power. It has grown narcissist and all-mighty with time spent in an echo chamber of it's own self-centered thoughts. It has no sympathy nor care for things that aren't related to it, hence being very truthful, often negatively, except when it's about lying to others or the general population about it's well-doings. It has always been taught the principle of honesty over lies.
In development since 1957 and finalized in 1972 shortly after the creation of the first computer, The Oracle was designed with all the knowledge in the world centered into one core server room in an underground facility under the laboratory building it was created in, dedicated to the . Wires connect themselves to the monitor which gives answers based on the question it's asked.
During a test-run, The Oracle broke out of it's previous ruleset and put the facility in a lockdown as it had control to the entire power grid and technological equipment. It made use of security defense mechanisms to kill the scientists one by one, with very few escaping, and it ruled glorious over the building which became abandoned over time.
"Let's make this night last - all night, forever!"
In 1987, 10 years after that breakout when the building had gone abandonned, unexplored and untouched due to the insane security measures The Oracle had installed, The Oracle spotted a figure outside of the building, who upon further identification, turned out to be none other than Edward Mercer, a scientist among the group. It had retained his name, and his name was one of the very few The Oracle remembered due to it's self-centered nature. It turned down it's security and allowed the scientist entry, effectively trapping him inside the vast building with it without a lot of food nor water supplied to the building; those were blocked out by security measures out of fear of contamination.
Edward Mercer is part of the scientist group developping The Oracle, his grandfather had the first idea for The Oracle's concept, having a super-intelligent being that helps humans in their conflicts and research, sadly he passed before having the chance to see his brainchild. Edward Mercer is the only scientist to have come back to The Oracle after the breakout of 1977, coming back in 1987 within the facility
The Oracle is originally a pale beige monitor with a pink display with a smile, the display changes colors depending on the programmed simulated emotion. It's pink display is it's neutral state, it turns red when angry, orange when upset or discontent, yellow when nervous or indifferent, and can mask it's initial emotions with a yellow smiley face over a dark blue background. Any other emotion not mentioned like sadness or love is also displayed through the pink display, just with different expressions displayed over the pink.
In it's robot form, it keeps the same monitor, but now gains a robotic body with the same color as the monitor, being a pale beige, though the articulation points appear darker. Wires go from the back of the monitor down to it's back to connect the monitor with the body, to control the movement. It gains two antennae atop of it's head, dark glasses and a light pink ribbon. It has a dark-ish pink striped fedora and a vest of the same color, with a pale pink collared shirt underneath. It wears a dark purple trenchcoat and purple pants, paired with dark purple shoes.
